Our purpose
PickBrief helps independent creators make better software decisions. We prioritize usefulness, accuracy, and clear trade-offs over collecting the largest possible number of listings.
How tools are selected
We consider product relevance, availability, pricing transparency, ease of use, commercial usefulness, and the quality of official documentation. A product is included only when we can explain the user and workflow it serves. Inclusion is not an endorsement, certification, or guarantee.
Research and verification
Profiles are based on official product pages, documentation, pricing information, and practical workflow analysis. A page states when published pricing and positioning were last checked. When a conclusion comes from research rather than a complete hands-on test, we do not present it as laboratory or long-term usage evidence.
How recommendations are written
Every profile should identify the best-fit user, meaningful strengths, important limitations, pricing approach, and a practical evaluation step. Comparisons avoid a universal winner and explain which conditions favor each product. Rankings are based on fit for the audience named on the page; vendors cannot buy a higher position or a positive verdict.
Updates and corrections
We revisit high-impact pages as products change and update a profile when reliable new information materially changes the decision. Readers and vendors may report an error at contact@pickbrief.com. Useful reports should include the page URL and a primary source. We review correction requests for evidence, not commercial preference.
Commercial relationships
Affiliate relationships do not purchase inclusion, ranking, or a favorable review. Sponsored placements, if introduced, will be clearly labeled and visually separated from independent recommendations. Material commercial relationships are disclosed where they appear.
